After college, my first paid gig was to photograph flowers for the social media for a local greenhouse. It taught me a lot of tricks, and let me really get to know my new lens, which had a macro setting. While still life isn’t what I commonly do, it holds immense value in teaching you framing and subject priority… Plus, the plants don’t talk or blink right as you hit the button.
